Euchner’s MGB safety switches with bus connection offer high-quality machine protection by combining contactless RFID coding, solenoid locking, LED diagnostics, and integration with industrial bus systems – PROFINET/PROFIsafe, EtherCAT/FSoE, EtherCAT P/FSoE, and Ethernet/IP/CIP Safety. Due to the bus connection, safety switches status, faults, and door control functions can be monitored directly from the automation system. This provides more extensive use of system component control and diagnostics. Expanded and more precise diagnostics also speed up potential maintenance situations.
MGB safety switches can achieve safety level Cat 4 / PL e according to EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL3 according to EN ISO 62061. Due to RFID coding, the safety switches achieves Type 4 classification and high coding level according to EN ISO 14119. MGB2 Modular machine safety system is an even more advanced and intelligent solution that independently monitors system operation. Its modular structure allows flexible use of the safety switch and provides application-specific safety system design. In addition to safety switches and additional button modules, the system can be extended with enabling switches, contactless safety switches, emergency stop buttons, and signal towers. Pre-configurable software commissioning speeds up installation, as on-site setup is simply plug & play. In the MGB2 Modular system, the MBM bus module can be installed separately from the safety switches, for example in a control cabinet.
