In August 2012, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) published its final rules on conflict minerals (also known as 3TG minerals), as defined and required under Section 1502 of the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. These conflict minerals include gold, tin, tantalum, and tungsten sourced from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its neighboring countries.
