ASO GmbH develops and manufacture self-assembly and customer specific safety edges. Product catalog also includes standard sized and customer specific safety bumpers and mats. ASO was established in Salzkotten Germany in 1984. From the beginning their mission has been to improve safety in automation by developing, manufacturing and testing innovative safety edges, safety mats and safety bumpers.
ASO Safety contact edges are available either in pre-made measurements or for self-assembly. Self-assembly has been made easy with Plug’N’Sense System. Contact edges with continuous selection of profile sizes with and without sealing lips and various base options, fitting for most mounting profiles. Also available with logo printing.

The max. number of connected bumpers are 5 and the total length of the system must not exceed 25 m. One-line end connected to the safety evaluation control electronics and the other end with a terminating resistor (factory-made). The electronic monitor the whole circuit, including sensor and terminating resistor (8,2kΩ). ASO Safety’s own safety relays can be used e.g. ELMON rail 41-322.

The basic construction of the ASO Safety Contact Mat consist of two conductive plates which are separated by a proprietary isolating layer. A single compound polyurethane material assures impermeability against oils, water and dirt. An anti-slip surface is also implemented into the design.
